Article 7 – Warranty
Our products are made exclusively from slow-growing Nordic spruce, sourced from Scandinavian forests and known for its exceptional qualities:
High-Quality Wood: Slow-growing Nordic spruce has a fine texture, higher density, and superior durability compared to fast-growing wood, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.
Strength & Durability: Its robust nature makes it particularly suitable for long-lasting structures such as garden buildings and wooden houses.
Dimensional Stability: The slow growth of Nordic spruce reduces expansion and contraction due to humidity and temperature changes, ensuring long-term stability.
Aesthetic Appeal: With a naturally light and uniform tone, Nordic spruce is versatile and can be varnished or treated to achieve the desired look.
Weather Resistance: Due to its density and slow growth, this wood offers better resistance to harsh weather conditions and wear compared to less dense alternatives.
To ensure high-quality manufacturing, Galanis UAB employs highly skilled staff and state-of-the-art machinery.
Warranty Coverage:
10-year warranty for structures with walls thicker than 44mm
5-year warranty for structures with walls less than 44mm
2-year warranty on doors and windows
Exclusions from the warranty apply in the following cases:
(Further exclusions can be detailed as needed.)
- Inadequate Base: The building must be erected on a solid, level base that meets the specific measurements provided for each cabin. The use of an inadequate base excludes the warranty coverage.
- Assembly Not in Accordance with Instructions: If the customer or a third-party assembly service has not followed the assembly instructions correctly, the warranty will be void.
- Modifications or Alterations After Delivery: Any modifications or alterations made to the product after delivery, even if minor, will void the warranty.
- Lack of Wood Treatment: An approved cut-end treatment must be applied to each wooden part immediately after it has been cut, drilled, or pierced. Failure to apply this treatment will void the warranty.
- Inadequate Maintenance: If the product is not varnished inside and out after assembly and is not repainted at least once a year with oil-based paint or preservative providing a coverage of 80 to 120 microns, the warranty will be void.
- Contact with External Elements: If the product has been in close contact with plants, trees, or exterior walls, as such exposure can allow moisture to penetrate the wood, the warranty will be excluded.
- Damage to the Roof or Covering: If the roof or roof covering has been damaged or improperly installed, allowing moisture to seep in, the warranty will not be covered.
- Inadequate Storage: If the product has not been stored in a dry place prior to assembly, the warranty will be void.
- Failure to Adjust Hinges: If the hinges are not adjusted when the doors and windows expand or contract due to the natural characteristics of the wood, the warranty will not be covered.
- High Humidity Levels: If humidity levels inside exceed 50%, the warranty will not apply.
It is important to note that wood is a natural material and may undergo changes over time, including movement, warping, cracks, and splits, especially in unfavorable weather conditions. However, these natural changes do not affect the strength of the product and are not covered by the warranty.
Art. 8 – Manufacturer’s Disclaimer of Liability
The need for a building permit for wooden structures depends on the local construction laws and regulations of the location where you plan to install the structure. In many jurisdictions, small garden structures, such as cabins, sheds, or pergolas, may be exempt from the requirement to obtain a building permit, provided certain criteria are met. However, these exemptions vary from one place to another, so it is important to check the specific rules in your area. Here are some factors to consider:
- Size of the Structure: Generally, small structures that fit within certain dimensions, such as less than 20 to 30 square meters (the thresholds may vary), may not require a building permit in many jurisdictions.
- Height: The height of the structure could be another determining factor.
- Location: The exact location of the structure in the garden or on the land may be important. Certain locations may require different approvals.
- Materials and Use: The type of materials used for the structure and its intended use could influence the need for a building permit. For example, a structure used as a shed may have different rules compared to one used as temporary housing.
- Local Rules: Building laws and zoning rules can vary from one municipality to another. It is essential to contact the local municipal office or building department for information specific to your area.
In general, it is advised to contact the local municipal office or building department for specific information about the need for a building permit. They may also be able to provide guidelines on maximum allowed dimensions, heights, and other local requirements. It is important to follow local regulations to avoid future issues and ensure compliance with local building laws.
Given the above, Galanis shall not be held responsible if the product supplied does not comply with the applicable regulations. The customer expressly exempts GALANIS from any liability in this regard and agrees to indemnify the manufacturer in case of third-party claims against GALANIS due to the use of a product that does not comply with the applicable regulations.
Art. 9 – Assembly
Galanis only supplies the product and does not handle the assembly. It is therefore recommended to hire experienced and qualified installers. However, Galanis may suggest one or more trusted companies; for this purpose, the assembly cost may be suggested at the time of purchase and will be paid directly to the installation company.
The relationship between the customer and the installation companies, including those trusted by Galanis and possibly recommended to the customer, remains an exclusive relationship between the customer and the company. The manufacturer remains a third party to the relationship between the customer and the installation company, and consequently, no liability of any kind shall be attributed to GALANIS arising directly or indirectly from this relationship.
For your information, please note that in order to allow third-party assembly services, the customer must ensure the following:
- The assembly site must be easily accessible and convenient for the installation team;
- The base for the product must be made of concrete or another material, level, and dry;
- Any underground utilities (electricity, water, gas, drainage) must be prepared in advance;
- Scaffolding will be required for two-story structures or those higher than 4 meters.
Art. 10 – Product Information and Images on the Website and Brochure
Product information and images are provided for informational and illustrative purposes and may differ from the actual products. For an accurate description of the product and dimensions, please refer to the attached documents containing the technical specifications.
Art. 11 – Data Security and Privacy
The Customer guarantees that they legitimately have all the information entered on the website www.galanis.lt for the purpose of purchasing the product, and also ensures that such information does not violate the rights of third parties, either directly or indirectly. Therefore, the contractor, whether a Consumer or Professional, agrees not to enter data they do not have the right to use freely.
It is also prohibited for the purchasing party to enter false and/or fictitious data during the registration process and in subsequent communications related to the execution of the contract.
To this end, the Customer releases GALANIS from any liability:
- For any liability arising from the issuance of incorrect data and tax documents, as the Customer is solely responsible for correct entry;
- For any obligation and/or burden of investigation and direct or indirect verification in this regard.
If GALANIS independently determines or receives a report from a third party regarding the falsity of the provided data, the Manufacturer reserves the right to prevent/suspend the Customer’s registration.
Art. 12 – Liability and Obligations
The Customer therefore releases GALANIS from any liability in case of claims, legal actions, governmental or administrative actions, losses, or damages resulting from the use of GALANIS products in bad faith and/or illegally by the Customer, affiliated third parties, or third parties in general.
Under no circumstances shall the Manufacturer be held responsible for failures by third parties that compromise the use of the products.
Furthermore, the Manufacturer shall not be held responsible for any failures in fulfilling its own obligations, nor for any direct or indirect damages of any kind claimed by the Customer, resulting from reasonably unforeseeable causes, obstacles beyond its direct and immediate control, or force majeure events. In the event of any of the aforementioned force majeure events, GALANIS will inform the Customer via the website and by email to the address provided by the Customer.
The Customer agrees to indemnify GALANIS for all losses, damages, liabilities, costs, charges, and expenses (including legal fees) that the Manufacturer may incur as a result of any breach of obligations undertaken by the Customer under this Contract, including claims for damages made by third parties for any reason.
Art. 13 – Information and Consent to the Processing of Personal Data in Accordance with Art. 13 of Legislative Decree No. 196/03 – Privacy Code
In accordance with Legislative Decree No. 196 of June 30, 2003, and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 679/2016, GALANIS undertakes to process all personal data acquired within the scope of the contract in compliance with privacy legislation.
Pursuant to Article 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 and Article 13 of European Regulation 679/2016, specific information is also provided for the purpose of obtaining consent for the processing of personal data.

Art. 14 – Legal Warranty of Conformity
The Products sold by the Seller through its website benefit from the legal warranty of conformity as defined in Articles L.217-3 and following of the Consumer Code.
Article L.217-4 of the Consumer Code states:
- “The seller delivers a good that conforms to the contract as well as to the criteria set out in Article 217-5.
The seller is liable for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery of the good, within the meaning of Article L. 216-1, which appears within two years from that date.
For a contract of sale of a good containing digital elements:
1° When the contract provides for the continuous supply of digital content or a digital service for a period of two years or less, or when the contract does not specify a duration, the seller is liable for any lack of conformity of that digital content or digital service that appears within two years from the delivery of the good;
2° When the contract provides for the continuous supply of digital content or a digital service for a period longer than two years, the seller is liable for any lack of conformity of that digital content or digital service that appears during the period in which it is supplied under the contract.
For such goods, the applicable time limit does not deprive the consumer of their right to updates in accordance with the provisions of Article L.217-19.
The seller is also liable, within the same time limits, for any lack of conformity resulting from the packaging, assembly instructions, or installation when these have been made its responsibility under the contract or were carried out under its responsibility, or when incorrect installation, carried out by the consumer as provided for in the contract, is due to deficiencies or errors in the installation instructions provided by the seller.
This warranty period applies without prejudice to Articles 2224 and following of the Civil Code. The starting point for the consumer’s action is the day they become aware of the lack of conformity.”
Article L.217-4 of the Consumer Code states:
“The good conforms to the contract if it meets, where applicable, the following criteria:
1° It corresponds to the description, type, quantity, and quality, particularly in terms of functionality, compatibility, interoperability, or any other characteristics provided for in the contract;
2° It is suitable for any special use sought by the consumer, communicated to the seller no later than at the conclusion of the contract, and accepted by the seller;
3° It is delivered with all accessories and installation instructions that must be provided under the contract;
4° It is updated in accordance with the contract.”
The Customer has a period of two years from the delivery of the Products to exercise the legal warranty of conformity if they identify a lack of conformity within the meaning of Article L.217-5 of the Consumer Code.
The request must be sent either by post to the following address:

When the legal warranty of conformity is implemented, in accordance with Articles L.217-9 and L.217-10 of the Consumer Code, the Seller undertakes, within a period not exceeding thirty days from the Customer’s request:
- to repair the Product or replace it with an identical product, depending on stock availability, at the Customer’s choice, unless this choice results in a manifestly disproportionate cost for the Seller in relation to the alternative option, considering the value the product would have had in the absence of a conformity defect, the importance of the defect, and the possibility of opting for the other choice without major inconvenience for the Customer.
or
- to refund the price of the Product if repair or replacement proves impossible, or if replacement or repair presents a major inconvenience for the Customer, or if replacement or repair cannot be carried out within thirty days from the Customer’s request.
Art. 15 – Hidden Defects
The Products sold also benefit from the warranty against hidden defects as defined in Articles 1641 and following of the Civil Code.
Article 1641 of the Civil Code states:
“The seller is bound by the warranty for hidden defects in the sold item that render it unfit for the use for which it was intended, or that so diminish this use that the buyer would not have acquired it, or would have given a lower price for it, if they had known about them.”
The Customer has a period of 2 years from the discovery of the defect to exercise the legal warranty for hidden defects if they identify a hidden defect as defined in Article 1641 of the Civil Code.
Their request must be sent either by post to the following address:

- to refund the full price of the Product;
or
- to refund part of the price of the Product if the Customer decides to keep it.
It is reminded that the legal warranties of conformity and hidden defects are not exclusive of each other, nor do they deprive the Customer of their right of withdrawal as defined in Article 4.6 of these terms.
Art. 16 – Force Majeure
In the event of a force majeure event preventing the execution of the Order or these General Terms and Conditions, the Customer is informed that the Seller’s liability cannot be invoked.
In this regard, force majeure is understood as any external, unforeseeable, and irresistible event as defined in Article 1218 of the Civil Code.
Art. 17 – Commercial Warranty

The seller recommends completing the assembly within 10 days of receiving the product.
If any parts are damaged or missing upon receipt, the customer must take photos and send them, along with a scanned copy of the inspection sheet including the serial number of each piece and the order reference found in the installation guide, to info@galanis.co.uk.
